The 9 Most OMG Moments from Couture Fashion Week小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

We can always count on couture catwalks to bring the drama. Add to the forward-thinking visions the amount of craftsmanship that goes into each handsewn, made-to-measure piece and it becomes very clear: the one-and-onlys you’re seeing aren’t just impressive, they’re truly spectacular. This past week in Paris was no different: from floral beanies at Chanel to bangs styled to spell out “love” at Jean Paul Gaultier, the concepts, clothing and overall looks were both brilliant and baffling. Get ready to gawk. We’ve listed the nine most OMG-worthy moments from Spring 15 couture below. Scroll through to see the best of the best alongside the most WTF pieces that walked the runways.

Picture

1. Cutouts at Atelier Versace: You saw way more than midriff at Versace, which lived up to its sexy reputation by mixing already slinky silhouettes with swirling illusion panels that made up nearly half of the majorly revealing garments. The pieces were eye popping both on and off the catwalk, where Kate Hudson previewed a dress that flashed both pelvage and some taseteful side butt. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

Picture

2. Braids at Valentino: The old world feel of Valentino’s presentation dripped with romance, in part thanks to the prairie girl crown braids specked with wild flowers — a dreamy made-for-date-night ‘do that’s surprisingly DIYable. (Photos via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

Picture

3. Beanies at Chanel: Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld to make a winter staple work in the midst of a paper jungle dream world. Introducing the Chanel Beanie: a stunning piece of sportswear affixed with this show’s signature blooms and veil to give the playful pieces some elegant mystery. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

Picture

4. Bangs at Jean Paul Gaultier: Stringy spelling bee bangs = the newest hair trend? We think not off the runway of JPGs eclectic parade of offbeat models. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

Picture

5. Bridal Finale at Elie Saab: Delicate floral prints and lighter-than-air fabrics made the lush Elie Saab runway feel like a woodland fairytale. But the most enchanted look of all was the bridal finale, a gasp-worthy glittering gown fit for a storybook princess. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

Picture

6. Vintage Veils at Giambattista Valli: Giambattista Valli’s runway show explored the playful power of femininity with strong but sweet silhouettes, springy appliqués and vintage-inspired hair scarves equipped with a punchy polka dot veil. Vintage-inspired has never felt so fresh. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

Picture

7. Pleating at Dior: There was a LOT to gawk at at Dior, from the vinyl boots and overcoats to the mondo mod-patterned body suits to these pleated dresses — each of which took 200 hours to build — that bounced down the runway with a life of their own. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

Picture

8. Branches Hair at Franck Sorbier: Talk about unruly roots. The hair accessories at Franck Sorbier jutted out through tornado-blown beehives, a look that tied Dior’s “bondage ponytails” for harshest hair accessory at couture week. Other notable hairstyles had a more ethereal feel like feather hair extensions at Alexis Mabille, glitter hair at Maison Margiela, and bouquets of lilies adornment at JPG. (Photo via Thierry Chesnot/Getty)

Picture

9. That Overall Beekeeper Ballgown at Jean Paul Gaultier: We have to admit, this made our choice for wackiest look at couture week a really really easy one. (Photo via Lindsey Wixson/Getty)

We promise these 14 flirty, feminine and totally cool tops, frocks and skirts will elevate your Valentine’s Day style.

Picture

The Easiest Way to Upgrade Your Arm Party in 2015 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

Clasping a bracelet might be one of the most awkward maneuvers one has to perform while they’re getting ready. Alternately, you slip on a bangle to take the easy route, yet it drops from wrist to forearm so fast — and back again — that it makes you wonder if that ready-in-seconds move was really worth it (especially when you’ve invited a ton of ‘em to the arm party). To fit right in with this season’s rather practical take on glamour (high-fashion ponchos, anyone?) we’re seeing the cuff, a perfect in-betweener, make its way onto influentials’ wrists, including those of style bloggers and movie stars. And since Fashion Week and the Oscars are fast approaching, we’re betting the bump in popularity for the cinch-on-and-stay-put bracelet won’t be fading any time soon. Get a jump start on the trend with these 11 gold wrappers to wear starting now.

Picture

1. Wanderlust + Co Double Arrow Cuff ($35): Cuffs with an ultra-thin band like this geometric wrap are perfect for those used to wearing daintier chains. But that doesn’t mean it’ll get lost on your wrist: its triangle pendants make it a total standout.

Picture

2. Mickey’s Girl Wicked Games Gold Cuff ($18): Get the illusion of multiple bands in one easy-to-wear cuff. Its high-sheen finish means that it can pull double duty dressing up your basics and fitting in with your fanciest duds.

Picture

3. Slantt Kalix Cuff ($80): Squiggle shapes have been making waves among the fashion set lately and it’s easy to see why — the playful doodle shape, when reworked as a minimal print or metal jewel, is something totally refined.

Picture

4. Gorjana Coral Taner Wrapped Cuff ($60): This gold cuff has an embroidered coat that not only offers a pop of color but inspiration for your next DIY project. It’s a layering must-have.

Picture

5. Winden Jewelry Embrace Cuff ($155): Give your wrist a big bear hug with this snuggly cuff. How could you resist?

Picture

6. Made Shikali Metal Cuff Bracelet ($48): Go full-on warrior princess with this thick metal cuff. On its own, it’s an eye-catcher, with a matching P.I.C. on your opposite wrist, it’s a statement.

Picture

7. Nervous System Spiral 3D Printed Cuff ($178): 3D printed out of stainless steel using cutting edge technology, this bracelet shows just how stylish tech can be.

Picture

8. Moorea Seal Crossover Cuff ($40): The timeless infinity shape of this sleek bracelet guarantees that it will remain a wrist staple.

Picture

9. Leif Double Geode Cuff ($138): Here’s how to sneak that statement jewelry feel into the mix: with raw geodes affixed to either end of this thin wrap cuff.

Picture

10. Salty Fox Adeline Cuff ($110): This cuff’s single geometric peak adds just the right amount of edge, making it a jewel destined to become your everyday fave.

Picture

11. Stella & Bow Gretchin Thats So Fetch Cuff ($61): A Mean Girls cuff?! How can you and your bestie not get matching bracelets? So fetch indeed.

22 of the Hottest Wedding Trends for 2015 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

We may still be picking confetti out of our hair from last season’s wedding fètes, but a new year is upon us, and with it comes a new set of trends. Weddings are about to get real personal as couples say “I do” to hometown flavors, multi-day affairs, selfie invites and dresses that are anything but traditional. Sneak a glimpse at this year’s hottest wedding trends.

DECOR + DESIGN

Picture

1. Floral Backdrop: Looking for something that will really pop at your wedding? Take a tip from Kim Kardashian with a floral backdrop. Whether constructed out of fresh or paper flowers, it’ll definitely grab guests’ attention and create a beautiful photo setting. (via Forever and a Day)

Picture

2. Suspended Decor: The sky is the limit as centerpieces are no longer confined to the table. Look up for suspended decor like green garlands, baubles filled with moss and floral chandeliers. (via Bridal Detective)

Picture

3. No Flower Weddings: You may notice a move towards minimal or no flowers this year as weddings take on a more eco-friendly tone. Forgo the DIY paper flowers and allow lush greenery to take over. Think gorgeous bouquets, stylish succulents, green garlands, leafy wreaths and runners. (via Southbound Bride)

Picture

4. Boho and Vintage-Style Invites ($2): Romance is in the air, so why not personalize your invites with a chic, floral and sweet vintage design? The watercolor florals and lace details on these invites set the scene for a boho-inspired fète.

Picture

5. Selfie Invites ($2): Invites are getting personal, and some couples are even including selfies. If you’ve got some awesome engagement photos, your wedding invite could be the perfect place to display them.

DRESSES + STYLE

Picture

6. Lace Sleeves and Cutouts: In 2015, brides will be showing a bit more skin. The sleeves may be long, but those dresses will also have cut-outs and Angelina slits — hot, hot, hot. (via Bridal Musings)

Picture

7. Pretty in Pastel: Yep, brides are no longer saying, “I do” in white. Pastel hues are the perfect way for the modern bride to show her true colors in soft shades of gray, ice blue, mint and blush. (via Style Me Pretty)

Picture

8. All Eyes on Us: Glitz and glam are no longer reserved solely for the bride, ’cause bridesmaids gotta look good too. Thing like texture, sequins and sparkle are making a grand entrance this year. (via Style Me Pretty)

Picture

9. Softly Shaded Shifts: This year, brides will be dressing their maids in soft shades of cool mint, ice blue, lemon, periwinkle and blush. The great thing about pastels is that you can mismatch colors, so bridesmaids can stay unique. (via Vows Love)

Picture

10. Color is the New Black: Brides aren’t the only ones having fun with color — it’s time for grooms to ditch traditional suits for something a bit more eye catching. Navy is super hot right now, but we think this jewel-toned green is pretty smart. (via Love My Dress)

Picture

11. Rich, Red Lips: If you’re trying to work Pantone’s color of the year into your wedding, put the focus on your lips with a vibrant and rich Marsala shade. (via Ariana Tennyson)

DRINKS + EATS

Picture

12. Smaller Sips: The fully-stocked bar is out and drink stations are in. Couples want guests to get a taste of their personality, and they are doing it with flights of craft beer, shots of different bourbons, wine samplings, a specialty cocktail from their fave vacay destination or even samples of fizzy soda. (via Huffington Post)

Picture

13. Champagne Towers: Forget the chocolate fountain — champagne towers have returned, and they are replacing everything from centerpieces to the cake. Pop the cork and let it flow in a very classy way. (via Ashley Ludaescher)

Picture

14. Communal Dining: Make some elbow room for long tables and a sense of togetherness. Communal dining is on the rise, especially for outdoor weddings. Long tables don’t have to be rustic; they work well in more formal settings too. (via Papakata)

Picture

15. Family-Style Meals: Keep things close and personal by serving your reception feast family style, allowing guests to converse while passing sharable dishes of food for the table. (via Papakata)

Picture

16. Naked Cakes: Dare to be bare with your wedding cake. Rather than colored frosting or fondant, cakes are being decorated with fresh fruit, flowers, a dusting of glittering metallics or a drizzle of colored frosting for a punch of fun. (via Style Me Pretty)

Picture

17. Unique Cake Flavors: Personalize your party down to the last crumb with flavors from your family heritage, fave destination or hometown. Confections are going way beyond vanilla to popular choices like caramel apple cider, aztec hot chocolate or coconut. (via Brides)

FAVORS, FUN +FÈTE

Picture

18. Edible Favors ($20): Do your guests a favor and gift them the best favor there is: something edible. Couples are taking their after-dinner snacks very seriously this year, and guests will be thankful for the yummy treats.

Picture

19. Epic Ring Bearer: Here comes the… ring bearer? Ring bearers like this rollerskating rockstar have knocked this position up a few notches. (via Loverly)

Picture

20. Weddings Abroad: Even more couples will be taking the destination wedding plunge and making their big day a holiday for their family and friends. Top destinations for weddings abroad this year include Mauritius, Cyprus, Croatia, Ibiza and Turkey. (via Wedding Style)

Picture

21. Multi-Day Weddings: Couples are incorporating a three-day weekend wedding into their schedules with welcome parties, a rehearsal dinner, farewell brunch or any combination of the above. Now the bride and groom will actually have some time to spend with their guests. (via Easy Weddings)

22. Drone and GoPro Wedding Photography: If you want snapshots of your wedding day from every angle imaginable, make sure to hire a photographer and videographer who are technologically savvy. (via Huffington Post)

4 New Ways to Make Your Period Suck Less 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

When Mother Nature comes a-knocking, no matter how prepared you are, it still sucks. You’re uncomfortable, bloated and constantly in fear of your leaking nightmares becoming reality. But this isn’t the early ’90s. There are plenty of ways besides pads and tampons to rock your period with confidence and comfort.

Picture

1. Thinx Underwear: Whether you wear them as backups or a substitution for your regular period gear, these smart panties are good for so many reasons. They absorb liquid, they’re stain resistant and they’re built to prevent leaks. Also, they’re saving the world. In one woman’s lifetime, she throws away 17K pads and tampons, which end up in landfills. GROSS. These undies spare the landfills and your monthly tampon run. And it gets even better…

With their one-for-one model, every pair of undies you buy from Thinx, they send seven reusable Afripads to a woman in need. Many women start missing school when they get their periods, because they don’t have the proper sanitation needs. This can get young women back in school. You can also try Leak Free panties, which gives one pair to a woman in need for every pair you buy.

Picture

2. Dear Kate: For all your yoga clothes and underthings, Dear Kate is THE BOMB. Unlike Thinx, Dear Kate’s panties aren’t meant to replace your period gear. They just give you that extra bit of backup that we all need once a month.

Dear Kate’s panties have two degrees of lining coverage: either just the crotch region or the whole shebang. The lining holds more than a pantyliner so it’s an ideal partner in crime for workouts. They specialize in creating adorable undies for ladies of all sizes that are comfortable, sexy… none of them fall in the “granny” category. We’ll take a million pairs. K? Thanks.

Picture

3. Lily Cup: If you’ve been thinking of ditching pads and tampons for a cup but you still have some doubts, let us clear things up for you. Not only do pads and tampons create waste, but they cost you some major bucks over time. And unless you’re buying all-natural tampons, those things can be filled with rayon, bleached cotton and even pesticide residue; all stuff that can mess with your hormones and make your period worse than it has to be.

While normal menstrual cups are awesome because they can stay in for 10 hours without the need for changing, they can be less than discreet to carry around. The collapsable Lily Cup was funded on Kickstarter to the tune of over $300K, so we’re not the only ones who think it’s awesome. It folds down to the size of a compact and is made with thin but durable silicone, making it comfortable and easy to take anywhere.

Picture

4. Treat Yo’self: Whether you go for Le Parcel’s monthly box of gear, goodies and gifts or The Period Store’s must-have therapeutic options like soothing candles and oils, getting a monthly surprise you actually want is kind of rad. While the subscription boxes won’t stop bloating, they will distract you from the bloating by giving you everything you need to fight back.

Know of any other modern menstruation must haves? Pad out the options in the comments below.

10 Fitness Classes You and Your Kids Will Love 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

23/1/2015

We spend a lot of time discussing ways to achieve your fitness goals, but what about getting the family involved? Sure, your partner can probably take care of their own fitness needs, and if you’re cooking healthy meals for one it’s easy enough to expand that out to two (or three or four). That only leaves out one small thing — your kids’ chance to have a little fun and become more active. We know that starting a new fitness routine is much easier when you have a buddy, but rather than finding classes for you and your gal pals, we decided to look at healthy, safe and, most importantly, fun fitness classes and activities to try with your kids.

Picture

1. Yoga: Yoga is great for the growing body. All those stretches can help aid development and tone new muscles. Pick a kid-friendly class for some easier poses to get your kiddos started. A good downward dog at the end of the day will do you both some good. (via Yoga Vibes)

Picture

2. Trapeze: We doubt you’ll get any resistance if you tell your offspring that their gym class this year will be trapeze. Swinging through the air, you’ll build trust and some serious muscle. (via Washingtonian)

Picture

3. Tennis: It’s easy to start youngsters on this fast-paced sport, especially if you’ve already been hitting the courts yourself. Sign up for a parent-child doubles match to test both of your newfound skills. (via Optimum Tennis)

Picture

4. Zumba: Dancing, aerobics, loud and fast music plus bright neon clothes? How could kids (and adults) not love this class? (via NKDC)

Picture

5. Kickboxing: Does your little tyke have a TON of energy? Let them sweat it out with a kids’ kickboxing class while you take on some more advanced moves with your trainer or cardio kickboxing instructor. (via Ao8 Training)

Picture

6. Pilates: A strong core is the best way to support your child’s back, shoulders and legs, especially when they’re lugging around a heavy book bag all day. (via Time Out Dubai)

Picture

7. Rock-Climbing: Shimmy up that wall! Take a class together to learn the basics and torch some major calories. (via Sneezy Wheezy)

Picture

8. Cross-Fit: Even though the cross-fit craze has been called too intense by some, this kid-friendly course takes special care to protect muscles and joints while teaching proper fitness techniques. Psst, don’t tell anyone, but this is secretly the best way to get a taste of cross-fit before committing to the big leagues. (via Cross-Fit Goliath)

Picture

9. Bootcamp: Just like your own bootcamp classes, this outdoor training sesh will have little cadets running around, doing jumping jacks and pushing (mini) tires. A full body workout is just the thing to tucker out a particularly energetic tot. (via Bootcamp Ideas)

Picture

10. Dance: Let your kid’s inner ballerina — or hip-hop dancer, or tap dancer, or modern dancer — break free with some beginner’s classes. You can watch from the sidelines or practice the moves with them at home: We promise you’ll still get a good workout. (via Magnuson Athletic Club)

Are you and your family excited to try out some of these classes? Which ones are you most interested in exploring? Let us know below!

Say What?! Dyed Armpit Hair Is Trending… 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

We’ve grown accustomed to spotting girls with pink hair at the grocery store and with green hair at the gym. Bright, saturated hair colors have not only become accepted, but normal and totally covetable. But now it seems that ladies are taking those ultra-dyed locks a little further south (we know what you’re thinking, and no, not that far south). We’re talking about armpit hair. Not only unshaven and natural armpit hair, but pits that are lavender, aquamarine and fluorescent yellow.

Picture

The trend, or should we say movement, all began unintentionally by Seattle-based hairdresser Roxie Hunt. Hunt always wanted to try dyeing armpit hair and asked her co-worker Rain Sissel if she’d be up to it. Rain obliged and the experiment went shockingly well. So well, in fact, that the blog post Hunt wrote on how to dye your own pits was shared more than 35,000 times. Soon after, photos of other ladies with vibrant underarm hair came rolling in. Suddenly Hunt and Sissel found themselves heading the “Free Your Pits” movement.

Picture

Now the movement has an Instagram page, a growing series of hashtags (#freeyourpits and#dyedpits) and a full-blown manifesto. The ladies write:

We would like to use our pits to start an evolving conversation about feminism, identity, body positivity, judgement, acceptance and freedom of choice. Our goal is to use this demonstration of personal choice and expression to help broaden and challenge the standard of “beauty” in a society that already places way too many harmful standards on women. We aim to steer this standard towards a celebration and acceptance of our unique differences and away from the existing cage that restricts us and causes us to wrongfully judge each other.

Picture

Another woman fully on board with underarm hair is Anna Biotics, who started the Instagram page Lady Pit Hair all the way back in 2013. The account, which is dedicated to ladies who want to show off their full-grown pits, is not necessarily all about dyed pits, but it’s definitely an aiding force in the feminist movement.

Picture
Picture

Walking around with rainbow-colored underarms is definitely a look, but hey, what’s life for if not to have a little fun with it? And besides, the message here is heartfelt: rock your body and body hair however you want. That’s something we can definitely get behind.

What’s your take on this vibrant trend? Are you into it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Are Underwater Maternity Shoots the Newest Pregnancy Trend?小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

For many moms-to-be, a maternity shoot is a great way to capture some of the memories of being pregnant. Some find moments of calm before the craziness that will become their lives with a newborn, while others opt for quirky DIY experiences that show off their personality. And some, as we have just learned, become mermaids.

Picture
Picture

Photographer Adam Opris is a self-described lifestyle photographer by day and underwater photographer by night. His latest project is turning expecting mothers into mermaids (or as we like to call them, mer-moms). The results are ethereal, magical and utterly beautiful.

Picture

While some of the photos feature husbands and children making an appearance, we’re personally fans of the pictures that feature the moms front and center in all their glory. Draped in flowing silks — and might we say some epic heels — these lovely ladies get an inspirational moment in the sunny spotlight.

And how’s this for a fun fact: Apparently pregnancy makes your body more buoyant, so all those graceful, dancer-like poses? They’re totally au naturel.

Epson Is About to Take Over Fashion Week小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

Coming fresh off the heels of this year’s CES conference, one thing has become crystal clear: Fashion and tech now go hand in hand. We’ve seen it work itself into rings, necklaces and even gorgeous 3D printed dresses. So what’s the next big tech brand to cross over to the sartorial side? Epson — ya, like the printer.

Picture

Epson has partnered with 11 designers across the Americas on collections created using Epson’s state-of-the-art dye sublimation printing process. What the heck is dye sublimation printing? Oh, we’re so glad you asked. It’s a textile technique created using Epson’s SureColor F-Series which produces sharp images and rich colors by printing straight onto fabric – kind of like a super-improved version of ink transfer paper… without the transfer.

Picture

The pieces these 11 designers produce will be showcased during New York Fashion Week next month at an event titled “Digital Couture.” Agustin Chacon, VP of subsidiary sales and operations over at the printing company says, “Epson’s dye sublimation printing technology provides another level of creativity and functionality for young fashion entrepreneurs and well-established fashion brands looking to produce their art in a more efficient and affordable manner.”

Picture

No sneak peeks yet as to what we might see at the showcase. However, Epson has released a full list of all 11 Northern and Southern American designers selected to use this innovative technique. Some standouts are Ay Not Deadfrom Argentina, wacky celebrity costume designer Maggie Barry and Leonar Silva (whose pieces are just begging to be printed on).

10 Ways to Keep Cozy While Looking Like a #GirlBoss小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

A day at the office can be tough. A day at the office in painful heels and an itchy button-down is straight up miserable. Being a #GirlBossdoesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style or, more importantly, comfort. Take one glance at the outfits of a couple of our favorite lady bosses like Jenna Lyons or Sophia Amoruso and it’ll quickly become apparent that, when styled right, a sweatshirt can look just as professional as a blazer and sneakers as good as stilettos. Here’s a collection of pieces to rock when you want to feel like you’re in PJs, but look like you’re about to seal a million dollar deal.

Picture

1. Control Freak Sweatshirt ($68): At least they can’t say you didn’t warn them. Sport this with a collared shirt and black slacks and you’ll be the comfiest lady boss in all the corporate land.

Picture

2. Funnel Neck Sweater Dress ($189): If you’re into this piece you better snatch it up quick, because this cozy, wool sweater dress is on sale at a fraction of the original price.

Picture

3. Bright Sky Penny Loafer Sneaker ($46): Are they sneakers? Are they loafers? Or are they both? C — the answer is C. Whether you walk or bike to work, toss out those commuting shoes and just sport these kicks all day long.

Picture

4. Asymmetrical Pencil Skirt ($38): Those dreaded pencil skirts might not be so dreaded anymore. This one, made out of jersey, will feel more like a tightly wrapped blanket than office apparel.

Picture

5. Tie-Waist Jumpsuit ($95): Nobody will be able to ignore you in this scarlet number. Whether you have a big presentation or you’re hosting a gallery opening, this jumpsuit is super on trend while still totally SFW.

Picture

6. Soft Jersey Jacket ($50): Hello blazer of our dreams. To anyone who has suffered from stiff blazers with tight sleeves, grab one of these and feel your sorrows wash away. Pair this miracle blazer with jeans and a silky top or a dress and some fashion sneakers.

Picture

7. Long Tie-Waist Blazer ($113): If you’re plagued with an incessantly chilly office, throw on this long blazer that looks more like some kind of hybrid between a sweater and robe. While definitely dramatic, we’re guessing this minimalist piece is going to get you more compliments than you know what to do with.

Picture

8. Teen Spirit Top ($102): Finally, a turtleneck that won’t make you feel like you’re constantly choking. For those days where you feel like you just want to curl up in your shell and not talk to anyone, consider this the next best thing.

Picture

9. Drawstring Waist Jogger Pants ($48): Sweatpants at work? You can do it! Try a slim jogger like this pair and rock it with a silky top and stilettos. If you’re not so into the strappy heels, opt for some booties or a pair of pumps.

Picture

10. Velvet Blazer ($50): And now for the ultimate in comfy work clothes: the velvet blazer. Channel your inner Hugh Hefner with this sleek piece. We’re all about the velvet tuxedo, but if it’s a bit much for you, pair this with a silky dress or crisp cotton tee.

How do you stay both stylish and comfy at work? Share your favorite garment with us in the comments below.

9 Photos Of Disney Princesses Transformed Into Indian Brides小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

Belle and Snow White just got some awesome updates.

It's thanks in part to Amrit Grewal, a Vancouver-based wedding photographer, who told The Huffington Post that although Disney princess themes are popular for weddings in general, Indian brides generally stay away from them.

"Our aim was to show them that they have the options of incorporating these ideas too into their weddings," he explained. So Grewal and a few others embarked on a unique project: reimagining the characters in traditional Indian bridal wear.

The photo series was conceptualized and directed by Jasmine Nijjar, the marketing manager for Wellgroomed Designs, an Indian couture bridal salon in Vancouver.

Universal Decor Events created the sets, and Grewal shot the photos. They were originally published in South Asian Bride Magazine, and Grewal said the response has been tremendous.

"We were so incredibly happy that it was all positive," he said. "There was finally a look that Indian brides could aspire to that worked with their ethnicity and as a team, we were extremely proud to have been able to provide that joy to them."

Why Is The Dead Sea Called The Dead Sea?小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

Picture

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

Filling a sunken land at the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea in the Middle East is one of the world’s most fascinating places. It’s an incredible salty lake—one of the world’s saltiest bodies of water, in fact. As a giant solution in which 45 billion tons of salts has been dissolved, it’s about 10 times saltier than ocean water. This is not the kind of salt used to season meals. Although there is some sodium chloride in the mix, most of the salts are mineral deposits ranging from sulfur to bromine and potassium. The lake is so saline, no macroorganisms can live in it—hence its name.

Salt of the Earth

The landlocked body of water, bordering modern-day Israel, Jordan and the West Bank, was called the Eastern Sea before the Romans renamed it ‘Mare Mortuum,’ or Dead Sea. The Greeks called the sea ‘Lake Asphaltites,’ after the mysterious plumes of asphalt that spew up from the lake floor. Today, the Israelis simply call it the Sea of Salt, which is more to the point. Located in the depths of the Great Rift Valley, the Dead Sea is the planet’s lowest-lying land, with a shoreline 1,300 feet below sea level, about a quarter of a mile. It’s another quarter-mile down at its deepest point, making it the world’s deepest hypersaline lake. This prime location and unusual depth give the lake its unique salty composition. The water has absorbed the properties of the deep valley crust in which it lies.

Life-Giving Properties of the Dead Sea

Ironically, the reason it is called the Dead Sea is the same reason it can support human health and longevity. The mineral composition of the Sea has proven healing properties, thanks to high concentrations of essential mineral salts like magnesium, potassium and calcium. Its elemental waters are known to assuage diseases of inflammation, skin disease, arthritis, rheumatism, asthma, psoriasis and cystic fibrosis. Humans have sought the balneotherapeutic salve of its waters for thousands of years. According to legend, it was once a beauty retreat for Cleopatra. Today, the Dead Sea is a global hub for tourism, health research and commercial mineral extraction. The northern shores of the ‘world’s largest natural spa’ are lined with resorts, hot springs and health research facilities, all trying to get a piece of this wonder of nature.

Death of the Dead Sea

The Dead Sea might finally live up to its name by 2050, scientists say. Four decades ago, the water level was 80 feet higher than it is today. Now it’s losing a meter of depth with each passing year. At current rates of exploitation, we can expect its holy waters to dry up in a few decades. Because the landlocked Dead Sea is a terminal body of water, the only way that water can escape is by evaporation. As water evaporates from its surface, the lake is naturally resupplied by the Jordan River. But with 90 percent of those headwaters now being diverted to sustain large human populations, the lake is evaporating faster than it can be replenished.

Bonus Facts To Arouse Your Curiosity

  • Swimming in the Dead Sea is quite difficult because the water is so full of salt, it’s denser than the human body. As a result, most visitors just float on their backs. The waters provide a feeling of weightlessness, so you don’t have to work very hard to stay above water.
  • It is a popular yet dangerous myth that you cannot drown in the Dead Sea. You definitely can, and many people have, despite the natural buoyancy effects. Actually, if you do accidentally swallow the water, its salinity will quickly defeat the body’s internal balance of electrolytes, causing it to shut down quicker than expected. The Dead Sea is considered the second most dangerous body of water in Israel.
  • At the Dead Sea, the weather is always warm and balmy, yet the waters are strikingly empty. No one fishes here, and there are no coral reefs, nor sharks cruising for prey. But the Dead Sea is not really dead. It is rather the exclusive home of a host of unique, largely invisible microorganisms. Many types of thermophilic bacteria and fungi thrive here.

Madewell’s Spring 2015 Lookbook Makes Us Wish It Was Warm Again 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

By now we’ve slipped into at least two sequined dresses this week — the unofficial uniform for end-of-the-year celebrations — and we must admit, even though we can’t get enough of holiday glam, we’re ready to hang up all of 2014s trends and start putting our sartorial efforts back into our basics. Madewell must be a mind reader, because in the midst of back-to-back holiday parties, the brand has released its Spring 2015 lookbook full of updated casual classics.

Picture
Picture

Madewell’s warmer weather lineup is as consistent as ever for the tomboy-tinged label, with live-in pieces like overalls, button-downs and smock dresses dominating the relaxed collection. The takin’-it-easy vibe is brought to the forefront by ‘70s-inspired details like fringe, patchwork and flower child lace, but this isn’t a Coachella-bound collection by any means. Impeccable tailoring keeps silhouettes modern and refined, especially on jumpsuits, kimono jackets and ponchos that could easily read vintage in the hands of lesser craftsmen.

Picture

Fall obsessions like boyfriend jeans and bomber jackets continue to flourish this spring in more worn-in washes, but among the menswear-inspired separates there is feminine relief. Dusty pink midis and coral knits stand out in the sea of classic blues, while details like peplum hems on chambray tanks and pom pom-topped sandals add a wink of flair. Madewell continues its French girl style streak too, with staples including striped sweaters and Paris-branded tees that dress up even the most thrown-together outfit. Looks like someone just raised the bar for basics, big time.

What spring lookbooks are you most excited to see? Tell us what spring trends (or basics!) you’re most excited to take out of hibernation in the comments below.

15 Must-Try Beauty Trends from the People’s Choice Awards 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

8/1/2015

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

Good news ladies! So far this year we’re already seeing spring’s biggest beauty trends in full force on the lovely ladies that attended last night’s People’s Choice Awards. No matter what their age, skin tone or style, these celebs all donned simply executed hair and makeup looks that delivered a high level of refined elegance — that’s very good news for all you DIY beauty buffs out there! We broke down our favorite looks into five beauty trends, from wine-stained lips to up-to-the-heavens hair, each totally achievable at home and just as wearable. Scroll through to see the best hair and makeup from the PCA carpet.

WARM-TONED EYEBROWS

Picture

1. Bellamy Young: The Scandal actress is ushering in a new classic with her brow shade. Most women’s eyebrows tend to vary in shade and rarely match their current hair color, but Bellamy has managed to execute this exactly. The warmth in her brows brightens her entire face giving her a glow to be reckoned with. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

Picture

2. Bella Throne: Bella’s brows are matchy-matchy with the darker hues in her hair, a trick that subtly but effectively ties together her entire look. For a similar effect, apply a powder that’s slightly darker and richer than your tresses and highlight around your arches to make ‘em pop. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

Picture

3. Sadie Calvano: The young Mom actress’ brows appear to have a slight auburn tint to them, matching the hue of the babylights on her strawberry-blonde locks, which gives her a slightly edgier look. Girls with growing roots, take note of this beauty trick. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)

METALLIC EYESHADOW

Picture

4. Ariel Winter: The Modern Family actress’ eyes are all about that sparkle. Fine blue glitter not only takes her dark lids to the next level, but accentuates her brown eyes and dark vixen lashes. Confined to just the lid, as opposed to sprawling out like a smokey eye, the glitz feels extremely sophisticated.

Picture

5. Sarah Hyland: Two words perfectly describe the Modern Family actress’ icy eyes: big and balanced. Especially when applied heavily around the inner part of the eye, a light, shimmery powder brightens your gaze just like that. Coupled with the sweeping lashes, which accentuate the outer corner of her eyes, Sarah’s set get a elongating lift fit for a princess.

Picture

6. Giuliana Rancic: Nude glitter is our new obsession thanks to the E! host, who shows that a trace of glitz is better than no glitz at all. Layers are key to this eye look, which creates a gradient from the brown base to that covetable glitter and then finishes with matte off-white powder, creating a shimmering halo around the entire eye.

DRAMATIC SIDE PART

Picture

7. Kristin Bell: The brand new mom shows off the easiest way to wear this hair trend, both on and off the red carpet. Just pick the side your hair flips toward most naturally and create a short part that starts on your head at the very center of your eye. Finish the the style with messy waves for a look as effortlessly beautiful.

Picture

8. Ellen Pompeo: The Grey’s Anatomy star makes a good case for long bangs with this wavy updo that cascades elegantly to her chin. With this hairdo, it’s less about the part itself and more about the body you can get from that flip. As you can see, the more naturally the hair falls, the better, so be sure to have a texture spray on hand — you don’t want your mane to look too perfect.

9. Sarah Drew: Sarah’s strawberry locks are classic bombshell curls, sweeping and swooping to glamorous heights all thanks to the dramatic side part, which helps the hair achieve that flow. It might be the oldest starlet-approved trick in the beauty book.

MARSALA-RED LIPS

Picture

10. Katherine McPhee: While others were swooning over Katherine’s black and white, *we* were enamored by her red. This cool red lipstick, which we’ll call a spicy marsala, compliments her skin tone to a tee, which makes her dewy skin and luminescent eyes gleam all the more. It’s hands down the best bold lip look of the night.

Picture

11. Kat Denning: The 2 Broke Girls star pairs a graphic cat-eye with a just-bitten lip to mimic the gothic romance of her black lace dress and nailed it. If you’re smitten with her vampy stain, remember that chapped-free lips are a must.

Picture

12. Sarah Rafferty: Maybe it’s the combination of the cool red lip with her fiery red hair, but Sarah is nailing the vixen lip. As with all the women whose lips we’ve lauded, the actress lets her pout take the spotlight against barely-there blush and a delicately inked eye, creating a paired-down look that’s alluring and timeless.

UP-THERE HAIR

Picture

13. Normani Hamilton: Let’s talk about Normani’s epic braid. The Fifth Harmony singer is taking the rope braid to incredible heights, but that’s not even what’s most impressive about the plait: as it hits the shoulder, it switches up into a traditional braid. From top to bottom, it’s a beaut.

Picture

14. Katie Peterson: Katie’s take on the modern bouffant is right on trend, and actually one of the most flattering bump ups we’ve seen around. Her hair is subtly shaped and ever so slightly pillow kinked, so that the volume appears much more natural than the bouffants our mothers rocked.

Picture

15. Kelly McCreary: The Grey’s Anatomy star flaunts her natural curls in a sophisticated top knot — a go-to formal hairstyle for girls with voluminous locks. Kelly keeps her updo simple and sleek, free of hair clips or embellishments because really, that bun is the star of the show.

These 8 Beauty Trends Will Be *Big* This Spring 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

7/1/2015

There’s a bit of a beauty uniform during the winter: metallic lids, glossy lips, dark polished nails (maybe with a hint of holiday glitz). Come spring, those styles will have faded, leaving room for new trends to fill your makeup routines. If you’re anything like us, who’ve resolved to try the hottest hyped up looks of 2015 first hand, the refreshers are decidedly welcome. From a surge in chic nail art to the return of the red lip to an unexpected (but gorg) way to style your brows, here are eight straight-off-the runway beauty trends that will be *big* this spring.

Picture

1. The Rocker Smokey Eye: From piece-y shag hairstyles to long, defined lashes, ’70s signatures are sweeping the beauty realm. The retro stamp on the smokey eye is a party-till-dawn smudge that brings out your inner wild child. You can always stick with a classic black haze, though soft-but-still-daring hues like brown and purple, the latter seen at Derek Lam and Vera Wang (pictured) hit this trend’s moody sweet spot. (Photo via Peter Michael Dills/Getty)

Picture

2. Minimalist Manicures: When it comes to on-trend manicures, less is more this spring. Minimalist accents are making major noise, from a single piece of striping tape zipping across each nail — a look seen at Kate Spade New York — to dots brushed onto a single nail at Tibi, which means you barely have to lift a finger to step up your nail art game. (Photo via Anna Webber/Getty)

Picture

3. Inky Eyeliner: From sweeping winged liner at Saint Laurent to clipped outlines like this rigid not-quite cat eye at Céline to well, this, graphic liner is 2015’s answer to last year’s delicate flick. If you’re don’t already consider your liquid eyeliner your beauty P.I.C., these sharp and steady lines will certainly bring you two together. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

Picture

4. Bold Red Lips: Rouge lipstick is going rogue this spring by staining our pouts every shade in the spectrum. With all hues on-point—from the dark berry at Dolce & Gabbana to the bright orange-reds at Zac Posen to the classic red on Burberry Prorsum model Jourdan Dunn — this WILL be the season you find your red lipstick soulmate, no matter your skin tone. (Photo via Ian Gavan/Getty)

Picture

5. Raver Eyes: This season, pop-of-color liner gets a rave-y makeover. Designers used non-traditional products like strips of baby blue leather at Fendi and swipes of orange lipstick at Peter Som to achieve the color punch on the runway. To get a hyper-pigmented look at home using similarly unconventional, but see-for-miles materials, use a page from a magazine to create appliqués (really). If you’re set on sticking with makeup, simply layer on the color until you’ve reached your neon dream. (Photo via Mireya Acierto/Getty)

Picture

6. Negative Space Nails: Sometimes your nails are best left unfinished, at least when we’re talking negative space manicures. Swipe some polish across your tips, fill in *just* the half-moon part of your nail art or mix it up like the manis at Charlotte Ronson. The rest isn’t just fine as is, it’s totally on trend. (Photo via Fernanda Calfat/Getty)

Picture

7. Next-Level Brows: All this brow buffing we’ve been up to this past year might have secretly been prep for this offbeat look. Because now that we’re used to our furrow stealing the spotlight, why not dress ‘em up with color like we do our lips and eyes? Blondes and redheads, take this trend for a spin with a petal pink or dusty rose eyeshadow like on this Badgley Mischka model. Brunettes, tint your brows marsala (that’s actually a thing) or if your hair is really dark, try filling them in with a plum powder. (Photo via Chelsea Lauren/Getty)

Picture

8. Fresh Faced: No-filter-style makeup isn’t just great news for your morning beauty ritual (forget fussing with 90% of your makeup kit), but it also might be the best thing for your skincare routine. Barely there makeup like the soft bronzer, rosey blush and peachy lips at Chloé, Tory Burch and Donna Karen (pictured) mean your focus will be on the real beauty basics: cleansing, toning and moisturizing. (Photo via Bryan Bedder/Getty)

13 of the Best Homemade Face Masks We Tried All Year 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

This has definitely been the year of DIY beauty. We’ve learned a ton about what products improve our complexion, and it turns out, a lot of them are essential oils or ingredients that we already have in our kitchens. By mixing and matching the right oils and edible goodies, you can perfect your skin right at home, without any chemicals whatsoever. When our faces need a serious pick-me-up, we swear by face masks we can whip up in our own kitchens, and these are our 13 favorite recipes from this year.

Picture

1. Honey Avocado Face Mask: We could eat avocados on just about everything, so honestly it was a little tricky to set some aside to put on our mugs… but it was totally worth it. Avocado will make your skin glow, soothe it and make it super soft. (via Brit + Co)

Picture

2. Lavender Oatmeal Face Mask: Everything about this mask is meant to nourish and soften your skin. With the addition of lavender, this is the kind of treatment that’s perfect for keeping your skin healthy and your body relaxed. (via Julip Made)

Picture

3. Grapefruit and Oatmeal Detox Face Mask: We all need a good detox now and then, but we don’t always have time to do a complete body cleanse. This is the perfect option to at least make your face look fresh and lovely with only three ingredients. (via Beauty Bets)

Picture

4. Turmeric Face Mask: Turmeric is a total powerhouse ingredient for face masks. It not only helps prevent wrinkles, but will also brighten your skin. When teamed up with honey, the two make for a mask that will clean your skin and make it look positively radiant. (via Bustle)

Picture

5. Chocolate Oatmeal Face Mask: We’ve always heard that chocolate is not great for breakouts, so we were a little surprised to hear that it could help by adding antioxidants into your skin and helping amp up your blood flow. Not that we’re complaining. (via Gourmande in the Kitchen)

Picture

6. Green Tea Honey Mask: You make this mask without even brewing the tea! Just take the tea leaves from inside the bag and combine them with honey to form a paste. It’s a great rescue for redness. (via Wit and Delight)

Picture

7. All-Natural Detox Clay Mask: Your skin will love calcium bentonite clay. It soaks up all of the bad stuff in your skin and acts as a great base for a really BA mask. This blogger added witch hazel, turmeric and coconut oil. (via Feel and Flourish)

Picture

8. Honey Cinnamon Nutmeg Face Mask: This one sounds delicious. In fact, we think we’d whip up a little extra to put on top of pancakes. Anyway, back to the mask. Cinnamon and honey work to cleanse your skin and even dry out pimples. With a touch of nutmeg, you’re ready to exfoliate your way to clear skin. (via Liz Marie Blog)

Picture

9. Homemade Pumpkin Mask: Got any pumpkin left over from Thanksgiving? Put it to good use! Add in some honey and milk, and you have the ideal concoction for fighting wrinkles and redness. (via Beautylish)

Picture

10. Greek Yogurt Mask: Beauty goddess Lauren Conrad put together this super simple recipe comprised of only Greek yogurt and probiotic capsules. This one dissolves dirt while calming and nourishing your skin. (via Refinery29)

Picture

11. Egg White and Honey Face Mask: If acne causes you grief, this may be a new addition to your skin routine. Egg whites not only tighten pores, they prevent more dirt from getting into your skin, while honey works to clear out the dirt that’s already in there. (via Dirty Looks)

Picture

12. Homemade Biore Strips: Biore strips are awesome, but they can be a bit pricey. This is a totally cheap alternative and you only need two ingredients. Seriously. Just milk and gelatin. Mix and peel, people. (via Barefoot Blonde)

Picture

13. DIY Coconut Honey Face Mask: Sometimes all you need to add to honey is a little bit of exfoliating power. Coconut flakes are just the ticket to take down any puffiness on your face and aid in relieving redness. (via Organic Beauty Talk)

How to Throw a Taylor Swift-Approved Party 小巴廣告價錢7999/6個月

http://www.sixpipes.com 小巴車身廣告港幣7999/6個月

What do you call an event where Jay Z, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez and Justin Timberlake are all in attendance? Nope, not the Grammy’s – or the MTV music awards. Try Taylor Swift’s birthday party.

For her 25th bday this past Saturday, the pop sensation performed at Madison Square Garden and then celebrated with all of her closest friends (AKA pretty much everyone under 30 in the entertainment industry). You can forget about that vision you have of a fancy venue and trays full of caviar. T. Swift went full house partyon this thing, inviting everyone over to her loft in Tribeca where they had cake and pizza – how you can fit that much stardom in one apartment we’re not totally sure. If your invite got lost in the mail like ours did, here are a few ways you can recreate a Swift-approved soiree.

Picture

1. Set Up a Photo Booth: Because we all know if it’s not on social media it didn’t actually happen. Set up a fun backdrop (maybe with balloons and gold fringe like Taylor’s), designate a party hashtag and get tagging – or untagging ;) (via @nickjonas)

Picture

2. Have Props on the Ready: If a photo booth isn’t enough, find or make some props that coordinate with your theme for guests to wear both in pictures and just around the party. Justin Timberlake really upped the mask game in an emoji poop mask. (via @charli_xcx)

Picture

3. Have a Theme: To keep things cohesive and totally Pin-worthy, incorporate a theme into your party. It will not only make it easier to decorate, but will also give guests a better idea of what to wear and bring. Since Swift’s bash fell just over a week before Christmas, she appropriately went with a holiday theme. (via @taylorswift)

Picture

4. Keep the Food Simple: Classy dinner parties can be fun, but for the most part people just want to munch on something they can pronounce. Taylor kept things about as simple as party food gets with a cake and 40 delivered pizzas. (via @taylorswift)

Picture

5. Bring Something Personal: This tip is more for the guests than the host, but important all the same. Whether you’re unable to make it or just want to give a little something to say thanks for fun, it’s always a good idea to go with something personal. Lena Dunham wasn’t able to attend Taylor’s shindig, but she did gift her this amazing necklace complete with a picture of her cat. If you’re in need of some inspiration for a customizable gift, check out our custom shop. (via @taylorswift)

Picture

6. Bring Beyoncé: Haha. No but really. Bring Beyoncé and people will come. (via @taylorswift)

Are you throwing a holiday party this Christmas season? What fun party element are you incorporating in your soiree?
